What does the Trusted AI Procure-to-Pay webinar cover?

Peter Cook (VP Customer Experience, Kognitos) and Ashish Singla (Global Head of F&A Practice & CFO Transformations, Wipro) walk through where generative and agentic AI deliver value across procure-to-pay: invoice processing, vendor management, discount capture, late-payment recovery, exception handling, and compliance reporting. The session lays out a four-bucket framework: process, compliance, reporting, and insight. It runs roughly 45 minutes and is the first in the Kognitos Trusted AI series for finance leaders.

CFOs, controllers, AP and procurement leaders, finance shared-services and GBS heads, and the automation or COE teams supporting them. It is also useful for IT and security leaders who own the controls layer around AI in finance. The conversation assumes you already run RPA or IDP and are weighing where to add agentic AI on top of an existing P2P stack.

In the webinar Ashish makes the case directly: copilots are great for drafting an email or summarizing a thread, but P2P, O2C and R2R are domain-heavy processes that need contextual data, deterministic guardrails, audit trails and learning loops a generic assistant cannot deliver. The future of enterprise AI for finance is domain-centric platforms like Kognitos that encode privacy, compliance and policy alongside the work.

The framework presented is: (1) process, automating the cycle from PO to payment with straight-through workflows; (2) compliance, enforcing policy in plain English and producing audit-ready records; (3) reporting, producing timely views on spend, vendor performance and aging; and (4) insight, surfacing discount-capture, fraud and working-capital opportunities the team would otherwise miss.

Kognitos uses a neurosymbolic runtime: the language model interprets unstructured inputs (invoices, statements, emails) but every decision is executed deterministically against your written policy. When the platform is unsure, it raises a human-in-the-loop exception in plain English instead of guessing, and every step is captured in an immutable execution log for audit.

The webinar recommends a short, prove-it checklist: can the vendor prevent hallucinations, and to what extent; can a business user see why the AI made a given decision; what is the audit and compliance evidence; and how are privacy, data residency and segregation of duties enforced. Also push on integration with your ERP and on the time-to-first-production workflow.

Ashish cites the trajectory: RPA grew from a roughly $1.4B to a $10B+ market, and agentic / generative AI is now compounding at over 40% year-over-year. The implication for AP and procurement leaders is that the cost and risk of staying on rules-only RPA is rising, and the competitive gap between teams that adopt governed AI and those that don't is widening fast.

Start with the highest-volume, most repetitive parts of the cycle: non-PO invoice coding, 3-way match exceptions, vendor statement reconciliation and duplicate-payment detection. These give you a measurable straight-through-processing lift in 30-60 days. Layer audit and policy from day one so that the same workflow can scale into compliance-sensitive territory like SOX without rework.

Yes. The session is available on demand on this page, and registrants receive a link to the recording by email. The deck and the full Kognitos Trusted AI series (Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report) are linked from the page so you can share with finance, IT and audit stakeholders.

Bring 1-2 of your real P2P pain points (non-PO invoices, vendor master cleanup, or a stubborn exception queue) to a Kognitos demo. The team will scope a 2-4 week pilot, baseline straight-through-processing on your own data, and quantify FTE hours reclaimed and cost-per-invoice impact before you commit to a production rollout.
