FAQ

Common questions

What does publishing a process do in Kognitos?

Publishing promotes a reviewed Draft Process to a live scheduled automation. Once published, the process runs automatically on the schedule or trigger you define, processes real data, and routes exceptions through the Learnings system with full audit logging.

What do I configure when I publish a Kognitos process?

Schedule or trigger (cron, event-based, or manual), the Department the process belongs to, runtime parameters such as input folders or ERP credentials, and exception notification routing to the right team members.

Can I update a Published Process without taking it offline?

Yes. Edit the process in the Playground, create a new Draft, review it, and republish. The existing Published Process continues running until you promote the new version, ensuring zero downtime for production automations.

Who can publish a process in Kognitos?

Any user with the appropriate role permissions for the Department. Kognitos supports role-based access control so organizations can require a separate reviewer to approve before any process goes live.
