Every enterprise is running AI experiments. Very few are running AI operations. The gap between the two is rarely about model quality.
ISG Director Jeff Orr joins Kognitos Chief AI Officer Neeraj Mathur and finance lead Amit Dinesh Gupta, a Chartered Accountant, for a conversation about why department-led AI pilots stall before they scale, and what separates the organizations that break through.
Jeff brings the independent analyst view from across ISG’s enterprise client base: what CFOs and controllers are actually asking for before they will let AI touch the close, where the split between probabilistic generation and deterministic execution is heading for regulated processes, and why the failures he sees are more often context failures than model failures.
Finance is where this gets real. It is the least forgiving function in the enterprise, with no tolerance for an entry nobody can explain, which makes it the sharpest test of whether governed AI works at scale. Amit brings the view from the finance seat on what month-end close and the audit trail actually demand.
How the session runs
The session runs in two parts. Jeff takes live audience questions in the first half. The second half is a working finance session with Amit, showing one process end to end against the bar the first half establishes.
