On-demand: what actually works in enterprise AI for finance

ISG Director Jeff Orr, Kognitos Chief AI Officer Neeraj Mathur and finance lead Amit Dinesh Gupta on why department-led pilots stall before they scale, and what reaching production actually takes.

About this webinar

A conversation about the gap between running AI experiments and running AI operations, recorded live on September 16, 2026. ISG Director Jeff Orr joins Kognitos Chief AI Officer Neeraj Mathur and finance lead Amit Dinesh Gupta, a Chartered Accountant, to work through why department-led AI pilots stall before they scale and what separates the organizations that break through.

Finance is the test case throughout, because it is the least forgiving function in the enterprise: there is no tolerance for an entry nobody can explain. The full session page, with the speaker detail and session FAQ, is at AI for Finance: What Actually Works, and What Gets Cancelled.

What the session covers

  • Where enterprise AI in finance stands: an independent read on why most pilots do not reach production, from across ISG’s client base
  • What finance leaders require first: the conditions buyers set before granting AI authority over a process, in their own words
  • Probabilistic versus deterministic: where the split is heading for regulated processes, and why it decides what can be audited
  • A process end to end: the second half is a working finance session against the bar the first half establishes
  • Live Q and A, twice: audience questions with Jeff in the first half and with Amit in the second

Why the independent analyst view matters

Vendor material tends to describe what a product can do. An analyst who sees a large enterprise client base can say what buyers are actually requiring before they grant AI authority over a process, which is a different and more useful question. Jeff’s read is that most stalled pilots fail on context rather than on model quality, and that the split between probabilistic generation and deterministic execution is hardening for regulated work.

Who this recording is for
